A Note From Dr. Angela Christopher

    Hi! I'm Dr. Angela Christopher.

People often ask me what motivated me to become a chiropractor. Most people that know me realize that I have been interested in health and nutrition since I was a young child playing just about every sport offered in the suburb of St. Louis, MO where I grew up. At age 13 I shocked my meat and potatoes family by becoming a vegitarian for about 10 years (and even a vegan for about a year). As I learned more about nutrition and my own body, my eating habits changed but my interest in the health field didn't. I was pushed more toward chiropractic and farther away from medicine when my grandfather was given the wrong prescription by a medical doctor and died that night. After some research I was shocked to find out how many deaths are actually caused allopathically. Mistakes do happen, but I decided if I could prevent and cure dis-ease and promote health without these complications, I wanted to be a chiropractor.

As a chiropractor I believe in all aspects of health including chiropractic, massage therapy, yoga, exercise, proper nutrition and supplementation. Don't get me wrong I am not against medical care. I always provide a medical referral when necessary. However, if living a healthy lifestyle can promote a longer and more satisfying life........why take prescriptions or have unnecessary surgery?

As a former collegiate sprinter, martial artist and boxer I am particularly interested in treating athletes. I became certified in Active Release Technique (ART) after I received care that improved my performance as a sprinter and helped me to eliminate TFL and piriformis conditions that had been causing me pain for years. ART is not exclusive to athletes and I have had success in treating carpel tunnel syndrome, frozen shoulder, and plantar facitis among many other conditions.
